Traditionalists might prefer (or not!) a more "locomotive" feel for a GWR-liveried power car. Green changing to Chocolate and Cream to the rear.

From Richard Turner at 2006-03-09 08:31:25 : Now *that's* nice! :)
From neil at 2006-03-17 21:48:50 : Honestly, this livery was suggested for use on one HST set during the GW150 celebrations in 1985.
From nick wood at 2006-05-19 11:36:29 : This is EXACTLY how I have always felt that WR HSTS sets should have been liveried - and one set painted like this would be a great sight to see out obn the mainline, especially during the Brunel Year.
Gets you thinking about the other routes using HSTs. Have you produced a Midland Red?
From kelvin at 2006-05-25 17:49:46 : saw this advertised in Steam Railway, thought it excellent speciallt the A4 in virgin livery.Keep up the good work.
From Robin Sayewell at 2006-05-29 10:27:07 : Congratulations, these two pictures of an HST in GWR livery are exactly what I had in mind in my letter to Heritage Railway which they published in their Issue No 83. What better advert / marketing for Brunel 200 could First Great Western offer than this. I wrote to their Publicity Division twice and have never received a reply !
From Chris M at 2006-06-29 23:04:32 : This and the cocolate and cream HSTs look fabulous - much better than they do in Barbie or fag packet.
What about the reverse though - a Manor or King in Neon?
From 43001 at 2006-07-14 18:25:39 : although i must say that say that the power car does look rather intresting in a hybrid livery!!!!!although what doing it in reverse?????
From peter at 2007-06-01 22:02:01 : Super livery but needs Isambard Kingdom Brunel nameplate one end and Sir Daniel Gooch at the other!
From nyall trainmad at 2007-08-20 13:36:46 : you could use that on the various preserved railways hauling WR coaches (collet coaches, mk1's, etc.) which would be really good
From Edward Tucker at 2008-11-15 10:54:46 : Considering I am an artist myself, I love this. I wonder that the nameplates could be like those Class 47 names like, put "ISAMBARD KINGDOM BRUNEL" (both sides) on one power car, and "SIR DANIEL GOOCH" on the other. Next time you see 43003 and /or 43002 you might consider doing a version of this livery with nameplates in place (only a thought). Keep up the good work Owen. Railway artist Edward Tucker
