I've read that the Northern 86s are to be used, Top 'n' Tail with ex-Anglia Mk2s, on a new Crewe-Preston stopper (Crewe; Winsford; Hartford; Acton Bridge; Warrington BQ; Earlestown; Newton-le-Willows; Wigan NW; Euxton; Leyland; Preston). It must be true because here's a shot of 86262 on the rear of the press-launch special, calling at the rebuilt Earlestown station.

From jezmundomaximilliansmash at 2006-08-02 13:59:00 : This livery is a travesty. The spark is a BEAST though...
From 43001 at 2006-08-02 17:40:12 : cool cool cool!!!!!!! the 86 and mk2's look nice!!!!!
From at 2006-12-10 15:06:58 : it would be good if that service existed
From Stankevitch at 2008-05-07 22:42:21 : I wish that service existed, for both stock diversity and route diversity. It sucks being a Warringtonian :P
