Fictitious Liveries
Now that Arriva have won the Cross Country franchise from Virgin, here's a little glimpse of what their proposed livery (based on mock-ups shown on their website prior to launch) might look like on some traditional XC stock. (Update: now that the livery has started to be applied for real, XC have opted for a dark red instead of grey/black for the darker areas.)Previous | NextNetwork Pacer! Created as a commission, the original for this image was taken by Allan Hedley - thanks to him for permission to reproduce here.

From Luke Senior at 2007-09-03 14:19:31 : Hellfire! Somehow the livery suits it, but I think First would have played with the lights to try and make it look like a 185 :) How about a few more TransPennine applications? Maybe a 158, and working further back, a 47, 45, or maybe even a 124? I've also wondered what the 185s would look like in old liveries.
From PrentonPimp at 2007-09-03 15:20:04 : Rattly...but a LOT more fun!
From Rob at 2007-09-03 23:30:05 : Brill. At least this transpennine unit would be warm, comfortable and without an electronic announcement every two minutes!
From bjmorley at 2007-09-11 15:28:00 : Cool Livery! Works Better on this than the desiro's! as u said on the NSE 31's that scrap stays scrap & shiny stays shiny, i was thinking this photo of the 101 is of a few years time, and has just been painted.
From Mike J Platt at 2007-10-05 21:05:56 : The unit looks fantastic! A 45/47 with matching stock would be good. Also with ATW starting loco hauled on the North Wales coast what about a 67 in the older Arriva livery and the new 175 style livery, both with matching mk2 air-cons! Love the site and keep it up! From back Tor at 2007-10-07 14:41:51 : re comment from Rob; It would be getting an annoucement system, central door locking and a few other tweaks. In service from December 2007 !!! LOL (very tongue in cheek !!!!!)
From Miles (networksoutheast) at 2007-10-24 12:40:19 : I did see in Rail magazine the 185s in old TPE fag packet livery (blue/magenta/gold) and it was disgusting!
From at 2007-10-29 18:48:32 : They never had fag packet livery, the first few were delivered in "Barbie" livery but NEVER fag packet livery as thats what used to be on the FGW hsts when they first won the franchise over 10 years ago ;)
From David Broster at 2007-12-15 19:56:07 : OWEN!: You have killed a 101, for which I am eternally grateful - what a colour scheme! :D :D :D
From j......... at 2008-03-27 21:18:52 : Desiros go away. There's a new kid on the block
From jim knowles at 2008-08-14 21:57:32 : Has Daisy changed her name to barbie???
From Uzair at 2008-08-18 11:47:08 : Lol, this one is quite good.
