A Pride of Lions: 3. If, like the Brush 'Falcon', BR had taken Lion into capital stock, maybe it would have reached Rail Blue. (It would have probably had a different running number too.)

Fictitious Liveries
A Pride of Lions: 2. A 1961 illustration by BRCW showed Lion wearing what looks like (in the B&W shot) two tone green. (It also showed the number D8500...)Previous | NextA Pride of Lions: 4. If BRCW had built the Sulzer-engined Type 4s instead of Brush, maybe this would have been a familiar sight around the country. (Running number for illustrative purposes only.)

From PrentonPimp at 2007-09-07 07:13:00 : Thats effin' amazing!
From Beercat at 2007-09-09 20:00:43 : Once again, truly excellent work. Interestingly, this livery (unlike the others) makes it look like the result of a cross between a Hymek and a 47.
From Tony Willmore at 2007-09-21 18:20:42 : Funny thing is, I have always thought that Lion was a nice looking loco, especially as it came from the Wilkes & Ashmore stable. However, I think it looks horrible in this livery! The hump-backed appearance caused by the raised roof panels is the main problem. Just goes to show what a good looking loco the Class 47 is.
