Well, it's an A2 in BR Blue.

Fictitious Liveries
If, like the GWR and SR before it, BR had operated narrow gauge lines... Of course, whether Regional Railways would have kept the copper as shiny as the Heatherslaw chaps do is open to question.Previous | NextIf the DVTs had arrived before the dawn of InterCity livery, perhaps they'd be given the loco treatment. Well, looks like this isn't fictitious any more! DVT 82115 now bears this scheme, albeit with black window frames, and yes, they did get the idea from here!

From PrentonPimp at 2007-09-20 21:03:35 : It is an A2 in blue, and it looks amazing!
From darrel at 2007-09-21 06:39:40 : what about a yellow front end?
From at 2007-09-22 16:12:03 : Nice to see you getting back to fictional liveries rather than fictional locos....more of the same please.
From Merlin at 2007-10-02 22:30:08 : I agree - it still looks good! Perhaps BR blue would have still had some lining, though, in grey?
From Ngaugekid at 2007-10-03 13:16:44 : Maybee this should be one of the liveries for the new A1?
From Yaxxbarl at 2007-10-15 22:52:42 : The best rendition of BR Blue on a Steam Loco I've seen so far - smokebox doors should be black! The reason BR went for yellow panels, then full yellow ends , on their diesels, was that compared to steam locos with their chimney exhaust Diesel and Electric locos were not as noticeable to railwaymen working on the track. So, theoretically steamers are exempt from the yellow end rule.
From david at 2007-10-21 19:28:21 : How do you do these pics? A2 in BR blue looks good though.
From Murray at 2007-10-27 10:58:13 : Aye, it does look quite good - and actually it's quite plausible. The A2 were less than twenty years old when they were withdrawn, so had they been allowed to work out their intended lifespan in traffic they would certainly have lasted into the rail blue era.
From RichardSwayne at 2007-11-19 01:07:21 : That's what I call "Blue Peter!"
From David Broster at 2007-12-15 20:07:58 : It certainly is 'Blue Peter'! How about one of these in 'Deltic'-style Green? *cough, Green Peter*!
From Steve at 2007-12-21 13:44:04 : Not as daft as it seems. VoR locos looked great in Rail Blue, especially with a logo in stainless steel.
From Joel at 2007-12-31 10:25:03 : Try poping a headlight on as well, it's got a genny.
From Steve at 2008-03-11 21:22:59 : Straightforward and plausible rendition. Thanks
From JIM KNOWLES at 2008-09-06 17:19:15 : Well it is Blue Peter,GEDDIT
