From David at 2008-11-18 21:19:41 : I like it; the TOPS number is a nice touch. Let's have some more of Tornado in other contemporary liveries! One suggestion to improve this pic would be to move the white stripe towards the cab; that way it would follow the line of the firebox and have more room to continue over the top of the boiler and finish naturally round the other side.
From Edwin at 2008-11-18 23:17:35 : Now I know why it was painted in a grey colour!
From Postman Prat at 2008-11-19 18:52:16 : Looks good and extremely well done. Your talent knows no bounds - desecrating a Darlington product and not upsetting me. Prefer the next two photos, or even better BR Green!
From Chris Hallam at 2008-11-22 08:30:48 : And you thought that this was tounge in cheek!
She got that (well NX livery at least) on her test run! http://www.a1steam.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=category&layout=blog&id=1&Itemid=123
From Arthur Cannings at 2008-11-23 16:56:11 : Another winner, looks well smart. how about an 91 in BTC black?
From Big G at 2008-11-23 22:57:52 : Well at least they may run more on time and not fail as much as the Class 91s?????
From Danny at 2008-11-25 21:54:59 : if NXEC were to hire this (very VERY unlikeley) It would make a great addition to the fleet doing the Edinburgh - Lonodn Runs...
:D
From David Broster at 2008-11-28 16:50:25 : Now yer talkin'!! :)
Guess we can't persuade you to paint it dark blue and put 'GNER' on the Tender?! :) PLEASE!!
From David at 2008-11-28 18:02:33 : This actually became semi-fact a couple of weeks ago, as NX put their logo on the tender for one of Tornados trial runs.
From Murray at 2008-11-30 10:10:21 : As with the "Truro" picture, it shows that NXEC livery really does suit steamers surprisingly well...I think we need to see A3s and A4s in this livery! ;)
From ngaugekid at 2008-12-08 19:16:52 : This livery looks good - this livery sort of happened for real - see heritage railway magazine - (this months)
